Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary Resort

Bay Lake Tower, the new and beautiful addition to the Contemporary Resort and the DVC, glistens upon Bay Lake and provides modern luxury that coincides with its classic theme.

General Tips/Info
- While this resort is a DVC property, you can stay here even if you’re not a member. Obviously, prices vary depending on what kind of room you get, but a standard studio would be step up from a Deluxe Resort room.
- There are four types of rooms offered at Bay Lake Tower: studio (sleeps four, slightly bigger than a normal resort room w/kitchenette), one bedroom villa (sleeps 5, two bathrooms, full kitchen), two bedroom villa (sleeps 9, full kitchen, three bathrooms), and three bedroom villa (sleeps 12, full kitchen, four bathrooms).
- Only people with a Bay Lake room key can access Bay Lake property.
- Three views are offered: standards, lake, and Magic Kingdom. If you’re staying in an MK view room, you can get the music to Wishes on your TV and watch the show from your room.
- Amenities include housekeeping, beaches, a pool, shopping, boat rentals, water sports, fitness center, fishing, movies, in-room babysitting, business center, arcade, laundry, bell service, tennis courts, transportation to all parks, bocce ball, and shuffleboard courts.
- The Top of the World Lounge on the top floor is open from 5 pm to midnight and provides little appetizers. This is a GREAT place to watch the MK fireworks. However, it fills up quickly and is only open to DVC members.
- Monorail, walkway, and boat services can get you to the Magic Kingdom, all other areas can be reached by bus.
- The Bay Cove Pool features a huge slide and is exclusive to Bay Lake guests.
- All shopping and restaurants are part of the Contemporary. For more information on those, request the Contemporary Resort for profiling.

Hidden Mickeys
- In the hallway carpet there are large Mickey ears.
- The elevator doors have Mickey ears.
- The lamps near the elevators are mounted on a Mickey form.
- Classic Mickeys are in the design of the speaker grate at the top of the tower outside the Top of the World Lounge.
- Look around your room for Mickey. He could be anywhere!

- The Top of the World lounge is named after the old restaurant that used to be where California Grill is now.
- The amount of reinforcing steel used to build the resort is equivalent to the weight of 254 elephants.
- The resort’s foundation of 800 concrete pillars would reach 10 miles into the sky if stacked on top of each other.
- The cables running through the resort’s concrete could reach from Bay Lake Tower to Disney’s Vero Beach Resort!

Swiss Family Treehouse

Be transported to the Swiss Family Robinson’s life through this huge tree house.

Touring Tips!
- I personally don’t like it. To me, there are better things to look at in Adventureland.
- You will be waking throughout the whole house and climbing 116 steps so stay hydrated!
- No Fast Pass here.
- You must be ambulatory to enjoy this attraction.
- You will enjoy this better if you see the movie. Then you will understand it and really acknowledge all the details.
- If there are not many people, the duration should be about 13 minutes.
- Agrabah Bazaar is located diagonally from the Swiss Family Treehouse, with a variety of themed merchandise.

Hidden Mickeys
- When you’re walking up the stairs walk around the front of the dining room, the bamboo shoots on the left that make up the eave of the dining room are aligned to form a Mickey.
- Also in the dinning room, the chairs have Mickey carvings on the back.

Fun Facts
- There is a Swiss Family Treehouse in Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland.
- This attraction is 6 stories tall.
- The man made tree has 1,400 limbs and 300,000 plastic leaves. It measures 90 feet tall, 60 feet wide and weighs 200 tons.
- The tree’s structural root system goes 4 stories below the tree.
- The tree is made out of cement and steel but the moss is real!
- While the tree is meant to be a banyan tree, Disney has named it ”Disneyodendron Eximus,” which means approximately “an out of the ordinary Disney tree.”

Hall of Presidents

Experience all 44 presidents in Disney World’s Hall of Presidents, in Liberty Square.

Touring Tips
- I personally enjoy this ride, but many people say that it is extremely boring, and I totally get that. I love history, especially American history, so I like watching. If you’re not into it, skip this one.
- This 23 minute ride is a great opportunity to relax for a bit without having to wait long. It’s like the brother of the American Adventure & Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln in Disneyland.
- Right around the theater there are two rocking chairs that go unnoticed; it’s a great place to relax in Liberty Square.
- The theater’s lobby is full of presidential portraits and artifacts; take a look around! My favorites are the dresses of the First Ladies.
- Before the actual show starts, there’s a very patriotic film about the origins of the constitution & the U.S.

Hidden Mickeys
- In the lobby, look for a picture of Washington standing among a bunch of colonial-era men, probably signing the Constitution. Check out the end of his sword.

Fun Facts!
- Obama’s Audio-Animatronic is one of the most hi-tech and accurate ones to date. George Washington and Abraham Lincoln are also presidents who are in the AudAnim Hall of Fame.
- The theater is meant to resemble Philadelphia’s Independence Hall. I personally find this one a lot cooler than the actual one.
- Disney Legend Blaine Gibson, who designed the original animatronics on the ride, came out of retirement to design Presidents Reagan-W. Bush.
- J.D. Hall, the narrator of the show up till 2008, also is the voice of Frederick Douglass in “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.” Maya Angelou was the narrator pre-2001, and Morgan Freeman is the current narrator.
- Some highlights: Obama gives the Oath of Office, Lincoln delivers the Gettysburg Address, and Washington recites a new, heartfelt, and patriotic speech.
- This ride opened with the park.
- Disney wanted to create a ride with the same idea as HOP called “One Nation Under God,” in the expansion of Main Street U.S.A. that was to be called Edison Square. However, he did not have the technology to create AAs of all the presidents, but he was successful in creating Lincoln, which was exhibited at the ‘64 World’s Fair, and was turned into “Great Moments.”

“Ladies and Gentlemen…the Presidents of the United States of America!”
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater

Visit this unique simulated drive-in restaurant for a old-fashioned experience.

Touring Tips!
- This restaurant is know for the milkshakes and the burgers. You can’t go wrong with this combination!
- DDP is available here (Table Service Credit). You only get 20% off, which is good, but not necessarily a good value.
- Reservations are suggested.
- It is rated $$ on the price range.
- If you are traveling with a large group (more than 6 people), this restaurant may not be for you. The group will be separated into little groups of 6 so they can seat in the cars.
- The place is great for kids. It’s fun, colorful and entertaining.

- If you look above the kitchen, over the right side of the fence, there is a waving Mickey painted on the bushes.
- In the tiles above the kitchen door, there is a Mickey made out of the yellowish tiles.
- In the waiting room, on the left hand wall as you enter there is a poster of “Attack of the 50 ft. Woman”. Behind her right knee, there are yellow Mickey ears.
- In the continuous movie, a classic Mickey is formed on the astronaut’s chest. Look for the words: “Calling All boys! All Girls!”
- In the running boards of the cars you eat in, there is a clear Mickey.
- There is a Mickey posted as a graduate in the Bulletin Board in the waiting area.

Fun Facts
- Servers will usually address the person in the front left seat as the driver and other guests as hitchhikers and suggest they chip in for gas money.
- The “movie” loops every 30 minutes or so and has been the same since the restaurant opened.
- The license plates all have 3 initials taken from the names of the Imagineers that worked on the restaurant. The 6 numbers might be the corresponding birthdays.
- It was awarded the Best Hollywood Studio’s Restaurant for Kids by Reader’s Choice Award on 2004.

Disney Quest

Use your own imagination to choose which virtual world you wish to visit!

Touring Tips
- This is a indoor theme park. It’s full of virtual and technological fun stuff for all ages.
- Generally, if you go to DisneyQuest on a weekday, in the morning, or between the hours of 4:30 and 7 p.m., you should have no trouble with crowds.
- Takes a lot of time to explore it all so calculate your schedule wisely!
- Even though you will not play any games, you can’t enter free.
- There is a gift shop (DisneyQuest Emporium) which is located near to the exit.
- If you take off your jacket, leave it at the coat check. The coat WILL get in your way if you play the games.

Hidden Mickeys
- In the carpet of each floor there is Arabic print with Mickeys included. Try to find out what they mean!
- Look at the paint splashes at the Living Easels game.
- In the queue of Alien Encounter Interactive, a pre-show video is played. This video shows the machine XS-5000, on each leg of this machine there are Mickey ears.
- When you exit the elevators look up. The track lightning is formed into three rings to form a Mickey.

Fun Facts
- Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Buccaneer Gold: Guide your ship trough sea monster infested seas and destroy other ships.
- CyberSpace Mountain: Design your own coaster and ride it, too!
- Buzz Lightyear’s AstroBlaster: Blast other cars with asteroids so they spin uncontrollably.
- Disney Quest is divided into 4 zones: Explore Zone, Score Zone, Create Zone and Replay Zone.

- There was another location like this in Chicago but was closed down after poor maintenance.
